Learn how to photograph like the pros! Join Debbie, a professional photographer, in this two session tutoring course. You must have a digital camera that is capable of shooting in manual mode. This course will cover composition, working with lighting, depth of field, and focus. Some tips on post processing will also be taught. This class meets at Quail Ridge Park at the outdoor gazebo near the Lodge on Apr 16 & 23. (Min 6/Max 15)

Day Trip - 108002

Enjoy a unique look at the home of the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium. You will take a view from the Radio Broadcast Booth, see the World Series trophies in the Champions Club and imagine yourself as a big leaguer int he Cardinals Dugout. We will then head over to Anheuser Busch to have lunch followed by a tour. AB is nestled int he historic Soulard neighborhood and is the largest and oldest brewery site. During the tour you will observe the entire 7-Step Brewing Process and also see the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales. Our final destination will be Gus' Pretzels. Trip includes transportation to and from Progress Park, tour Busch Stadium, lunch at the Brewery, tour and a pretzel.

Join us as we take an adventure down the mighty Mississippi on the Sky Line Dinner Cruise. The view of St. Louis' skyline by day showcases the rich architecture embedded int he city as well as peaceful, tree-lined areas. In the evening, the skyline features the illuminated Gateway Arch and silhouettes of the city's vibrant nightlife. Listen to Dixieland music performed live, while indulging in a delicious menu. Some of the menu items are beef carving station, breast of chicken with seasonal sauce, baked cod, green beans almondine, vegetable medley, roasted baby potatoes, mixed greens salad, pasta romano, fruit salad and chef's dessert. (Please note, substitutions may be made at the chef's discretion). Join us as we take an adventure down the famous Route 66 making a few stops along the way. We will visit the one-and-only Jessie James Wax Museum. After viewing the world's only live footage of Jesse James, examining photography, reading eh fascinating displays, and observing the wax figures, and gazing at the $100,000 collection of vintage firearms and personal belongings of James and his gang, you will be astonished! We will then head over to Meramec Caverns to have lunch in their restaurant followed by a tour. Guided tours by trained rangers are conducted along well-lighted walkways. Learn how the ancient Wine Table (World's rarest cave structure) was formed completely under water. The entire cave complex stretches upwards past the height of a 7-story building and extraordinary formations can be seen throughout. (Please note the Cave Tour is approximately one hour and thirty minutes of on and off again walking.) Trip includes transportation to and from Progress Park, admission into the museum, lunch and admission into the cave.

The permanent and teaching art collection consists of more than 900 pieces. It is made up of sculptures, paintings, photographs, lithographs and monographs from renowned artists such as Claus Moor, Salvador Dali, Ansel Adams and Robert Motherwell. After the viewing of the art, we will head over to Eckert's to enjoy a delicious meal in their full-service restaurant, shop in the "modern" country store and garden center and then head out to do some apple picking. Join us as we head to the Endangered Wolf Center where we will take a two-hour guided tour to see Mexican wolves, red wolves and other wild candid species. The tour includes exclusive off-exhibit enclosures on "the hill", get a chance to know wolves the way the center knows them, share an inside look at three additional endangered species in the centers care: African painted dogs, maned wolves and swift fox, and so much more. We will then head to Joe Boccardi's Ristorante to enjoy their lunch specials (famous pizza, veal parmigiana, cannelloni, and so much more). After lunch we will head to the World Bird Sanctuary that rests peacefully on 305 acres of hardwood forest. The large outdoor avian houses a variety of species: Bald Eagles, Red-Tailed Hawks, Peregrine Falcons, Eurasian Eagle Owls, Great-Horned Owls, Barred Owls, Barn Owls , White Pelicans, Thick-billed Parrots and Sand Hill Cranes. Since the audience participates in the show, everyone receives and identity when they arrive. Some audience members get the chance to deliver lines as part of the show. Others may have to think up a quick alibi for the time of the murder. However, not everyone has to take an active part in the show. The murder and suspects are selected randomly from the audience.
